Quartertonez Music is a DMV-based music school where we grow and nurture the TONEZ within. Our curriculum utilizes western classical pedagogy as well as oral, improvisation, world music and rote learning to create a unique holistic approach to teaching music. We strongly believe that every one of our students from youngest to oldest have special, creative gifts that we can cultivate, foster and hone through our unique approach. Whether you are an aspiring musical professional or a recreational learner, we encourage all our students to enjoy and fully embrace their musical passions and unlock their own special talents.

Quartertonez Music offers private one-on-one lessons in voice, oud, cello, violin, piano, guitar, percussion, flute, recorder, steel drum, harp, saxophone, and clarinet for students of all ages and skill levels. Our curriculum utilizes western classical pedagogy as well as oral, improvisation, world music and rote learning to create a unique holistic approach to teaching music. Furthermore each teacher will tailor their methodology to the specific needs and talents of each student. Whether you are an aspiring musical professional or a recreational learner, we encourage all our students to enjoy and fully embrace their musical passions and unlock their own special talents.
Quartertonez music offers four group classes this fall, The Flying Notes Children’s Choir, Introduction to Music for Early-Childhood, Introduction to Arabic Music for Adults and Introduction to Acting. Each course has a curriculum tailored to the subject and needs of each respective group of students. At the end of each semester students present a showcase performance alongside DC professional musicians and specialists. Here at Quartertonez music we promote a family-like atmosphere and encourage both musical professionals and recreational learners to nurture their musical passions. Through collaboration our students learn life lessons about dedication, respect, and the value of hard work.
Flying Notes Children's Choir
This Fall 2019, The Flying Note’s Children’s choir will embark on a musical journey down the Nile, entering the world of the pharaohs and making our final stop in modern day Egypt where pop-singers reign. Students will become familiar with the various elements that distinguish Arabic Music, including variation in tone, scale, and vocal quality and how it differs from western classical music notation. INTRODUCTION TO MUSIC FOR EARLY CHILDHOOD
This early childhood education course is designed to ignite passion and excitement for music in our smallest musicians. Embark on an imaginary journey where our students will utilize singing, movement, drawing, and hands-on work with instruments, to tell their unique stories through music and learn the FUN-damentals of music. Students will develop a familiarity with various instruments and musical styles to inspire an anticipation for their chosen private instrument for study and learn cooperation with peers in a group music setting to provide the foundation for ensemble musical expression and spark a lifelong interest in music.
INTRODUCTION TO ACTING
This course is designed to unlock every student’s acting potential. Beginning with a brief introduction to the four major schools of acting technique students will learn how to analyze a script and simultaneously explore improvisation and develop a strong understanding of how to create and embody believable, multi dimensional characters.
