Shukur Kihlkhal (شكر خلخال) is a highly skilled oud instructor, luthier, and Arabic music researcher with decades of experience in both music and television production. Based in the United States, Shukur is renowned for his expertise in Arabic music, particularly in the art of oud playing and crafting. He oversees an oud-making workshop where he creates handcrafted instruments while also teaching students the rich traditions of Arabic music. His deep knowledge and passion for the music of the Arab world have made him a respected figure in the field.

Shukur’s career in television production includes directing Al-Aber Television Production Company in Baghdad, where he produced numerous shows and documentaries. Notably, his work on Al Aghani – The Songs for the Middle East Broadcasting Networks (MBN) in 2005 is considered one of the most comprehensive works on Iraqi music. With a background in journalism, he has also contributed as an essayist, writing extensively about Middle Eastern culture and music.
