CONDUCTING
Faith Foster is a DC/MD/VA-based conductor with extensive experience in orchestral conducting. She holds a DMA in Orchestral Conducting from the Catholic University of America, where she is currently a candidate. She also has an MM in Orchestral Conducting from the University of South Carolina and a BM in Violin Performance from The University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
Faith has held various conducting positions, including Assistant Conductor for the Catholic University Symphony Orchestra and Opera, Youth Orchestra Music Director for the Hendersonville Symphony Orchestra, and Music Director for the Gaston String Orchestra. She has also served as an Interim Youth Orchestra Conductor for the South Carolina Philharmonic and as a Music Director for the Columbia Community Orchestra.
In addition to her conducting roles, Faith has been involved in other aspects of the music industry. She has worked as a Theory and aural Skills Graduate Assistant at the Catholic University of America and as an Orchestra Manager and librarian at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. She has also held positions such as Business Manager at Davidson Violins and After School Strings Instructor at the Salisbury Symphony Orchestra.
Faith has participated in conferences and music festivals worldwide, including the National Conference on Race and Ethnicity in Higher Education and the International Society for Music Education World Conference. She has also performed as a conductor with various orchestras, including the Catholic University Symphony Orchestra and the Hendersonville Symphony Youth Orchestra.
